Jon with a nice 20" cutthroat trout. October and November are good times to hit Strawberry Reservoir. The fish are hungry and quite cooperative. Jon caught about 10 trout, and I managed to land 7 or 8. So we had a really good morning. But around 11:00, the fish just shut off on us. But we got in a good 4 hours of action on this day.
Kokanee salmon are now in the Strawberry River, on their annual fall spawning run.
The only fish I kept; a nice fat rainbow trout for the smoker.
Beautiful rainbow trout orange fillets. These will go into the smoker!
